Leadership Team

Village Bridges was co-founded by three young An Bằng women and our leadership team is comprised of students and professionals from various career paths & stages of life. As each of us steps into the next stage of life, we are committed to reaching back to uplift the next person.

Van Truong

Executive Director & Co-Founder

  • Van is currently pursuing her PhD in Genomics & Computational Biology from Penn Medicine and dual-degree MA in Statistics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania; she strives to be the 1st village woman with a PhD

  • Served as Sponsorship Chair of Women Bio - Capital Region Chapter and is the Liaison between the Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective and Penn Interdisciplinary Network for Scientists Promoting Inclusion, Retention, and Equity

  • M.S. Biotechnology with dual-concentrations in Bioinformatics and Molecular Targets & Drug Discovery Technologies from the Johns Hopkins University generously funded by a National Cancer Institute Training Fellowship

  • Post-baccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) Fellowship at Virginia Tech

  • B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Florida

Christina Nguyen

Director of Operations & Co-Founder

  • Christina is a Junior at Flagler Palm Coast High School and dual-enrolled at Daytona State College

  • She is also in the inaugural class for FPC high school's Medical Flagship Program, which offers students the opportunity to earn multiple industry certifications: Certified Medical Administrative Assistant, Phlebotomy, EKG tech, and even a Certified Nursing Assistant certification

  • In college, Christina hopes to explore several career paths within the medical field

Brandy Truong

Director of Marketing & Co-Founder

  • Brandy is a Marketing Coordinator at Digital Shadows, a London-based cyber risk protection company

  • B.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications with a Minor in Business and Emphasis in Public Relations from the University of Mississippi

  • Served as President of the Ole Miss Vietnamese-American Student Association during the 2020-2021 academic year and is currently active as an Alum for the Union of Vietnamese Student Associations of the Gulf Coast

  • Worked in the fashion merchandising and music festival industries during her undergraduate career
